I really wanted to share this verse from 1 Corinthians that talks about love. Not only is today February 14th, aka Valentine’s Day, but this verse has been on my mind a lot recently.
What is the first thing you do every morning? You shut off your alarm and maybe you smile and greet the day, maybe you groan and snooze the alarm for 2 more minutes, maybe you snuggle up next to your significant other, or maybe you jump out of bed because you are already running late.
Think about that. Think about those actions. Sure they may be mundane and seem completely ordinary, but might they also be actions we take that could be taken and done with greater love?
I think so.
It can be difficult, but I like to try to wake up every morning with a grateful heart. I get another day to walk on this beautiful earth. Another day to hang out with my family, friends and boyfriend. Another day to set goals and achieve them. Another day to cook and eat the most delicious foods. Let all that you do be done in love.
I also think that this verse holds great truth when it comes to our personal health, fitness journeys and goals. When you really dig deep and ask yourself why you want to be healthy, fit, strong, and well-balanced, what is the reason? I know for a fact that one reason is because you respect your body. You know that you were given this vessel and you are going to treat it well. Let all that you do be done in love.
Relationships? People who struggle with relationships with friends or their families or even for the sake of my blog, healthy-ishh, relationships with food. Why do you struggle? I encourage you to pause and evaluate where these inner demons or obstacles you face come from. Can you tackle those challenges with love? I think you can. Wait, I know you can.
Let all that you do be done in love.
The next meeting you are in, or the next time you get road rage, ask yourself if the way you are reacting is loving. Okay, I know, easier said than done. However, the first step towards living a more loving life is being mindful and aware of our actions and how those actions may be received. So, please, remember, let all that you do be done in love. I promise, your heart will be full and so will the hearts of those around you.
