Sometimes I ask myself who do I want to be? I am 24 years old and I would have thought by now that I would know who I want to be. Well, guess what? I still don’t have a clue. All I have known ever since I was little, was that I want to be happy (cliche, I know). But I can’t tell a lie.
Not knowing exactly what you want to do with your life, what career is best for you, or where you should permanently settle can be really scary. However, it can also be very exciting and motivating.
I definitely have days where it overwhelms me, but here are some things that I know for sure. Here is my current response to “The difference between who you are and who you want to be…is what you do.” What am I doing to get to where I want to be?
I am continuing to better myself each and every day. I challenge myself to eat better, pray more, meditate more often, have greater awareness of my body, emotions, and surroundings. I am supportive of my family and friends. I have created this blog as a way to inspire people around the world and assist them in their journey through life. I cook well balanced meals for myself and my boyfriend who I love with all my heart. I read books that allow me to learn more about the world we live in. I love hard and I give life all I’ve got.
The difference between who you are and who you want to be doesn’t have to be huge. It doesn’t have to mean doing something that will take years. It can be as simple as sharing a smile with a stranger, going to visit your parents more often as they age, or grabbing lunch with an old friend to maintain those relationships.
I believe that actions speak louder than words. What will you do to help shape yourself into the person you want to be?
